Stephen’s Shield’s Kingside attack was blunted by his higher rated opponent who forced an exchange of Queens leaving the position strategically even and the only pieces left to each player were a Bishop and King. A draw was agreed.

Ben Adams has made an excellent start to league matches. He sacrificed a Rook and a Knight to open up an attack on the King and it was decisive. Meanwhile his son Isaac battled hard for a long time but eventually lost and Maurizio Baravalle never recovered from losing a piece, Result Lichfield 1.5 , Tamworth 2.5 (Match played 24th November)
