Father and son lead Lichfield to win over Stafford

Ben Adams toppled an opponent rated more than 300 points higher and his son Isaac, playing his fiirst league game chipped in with a draw as Lichfield won at Stafford by 2.5 – 1.5 and are now second in the table.

John Fryer was a winner on board one, his opponent helping him on his way by playing too passively.John launched a strong Kingside attack but couldn’t quite land the final blow. He met a determined defence while losing time and time eventually ran out.as a 6th rank pawn threatened to Queen.

Stuart Andrews faced most players nightmare, the ultra keen youngster who knows all the openings and moves very quickly. It proved too much. (Match played 31st October)
