Peter’s great win gives Lichfield unlikely draw

Outrated by more than 200 points Peter Rose won his board one match against David Mercer to help Lichfield B to a 2-2 draw against Stafford at the Kings Head. His oppo nent would not have been out of place in Division 1 .tephen Shields on board two was also facing a 200 point rating deficit. He gained a passed pwan and prevented his opponent castling before overlooking a Queen fork on a Rook- a move he had previously spotted.

Connor Whetnall was also outgraded on paper although is P grade puts him closer. He played swell bhut eventually lost. Eliott Ward collected another league scalp on board four to give Lichfied a point. (Match played Jan 26th)
