B3 team go five points clear on top

Lichfield’s 3B team recovered from an early 2-0 deficit to gain an excellent 3.5 – 2.5 win at Redditch to increase their lead at the top of Division three to five points. David Fone and Albert Chacko got into slightly worse positions and lost, Albert’s losing run as amazing as his previous winning run. When will his fortunes change again?

But help was at hand. Yuriy Slobodyuk and John Staniforth battled hard to come out of tricky positions with wins and with the match tied at 2-2 Adam Routledge won in a time scramble when his opponent blundered a Rook. Tony Green then played a good solid game to draw and clinch victory. (Match played 3rd December).
