Champions just too good for Lichfield

It was a closely fought match but in the end Rushall, already crowned champions of Division 2, proved just too strong for Lichfield B and won 3-1. It was a strange match up on Board 1 because John Staniforth, who has played excellently for Lichfield and helped our team to gain promotion from Birmingham’s Division 3, played the Lichfield skipper, Adam Routledge and won.

Tony Green won for Lichfield on Board Two but both David Hulme and Gary Monks were beaten, Rushall running out winners 3-1 (Match played 9th April).
