Night to remember for John Keaveney
Lichfield’s first team suffered a seond narrow defeat, losing 3.5 – 2.5 to Solihull B. Turan Asgarova won her fifth game in six top board outings. She and her opponent had only a handful of seconds left on their clocks, Turan finally winning when her opponent lost a piece,
John Keaveney, Richard Anderson and David Hulme all drew in games in which they possibly held a small advantage and it was a memorable night for John Keaveney who completed 50 years of league chess with Lichfield. Ben Nevett-Farman lost a tight endgame. (Match played 15th October)
